Video Games have definitely changed the way we spend our time on recreational activites. Many kids play Nintendo Wii, and so do some adults. But the XBox 360 is the platform that allows for a wide range of video game genres, which makes it fun for all ages. This Christmas 2009, be on the lookout for these very popular video games!


Call of Duty : Modern Warfare is probably the most anticipated game of the season which why it is high in inventories wherever you go. This game is only for mature players because it brings warfare to life with high-end real life weapons and a demented storyline. The weakspot of this game however is the multi player mode. For all your young ones, try and pick up a copy of Cars, the video game based on the Disney/Pixar movie. The game is heavily based on scenes from the movie and also has over thirty different races and games that will always be fun for the kids. There are over ten characters and its multi player which makes the game much more enjoyable.


DragonAge: Origins is the brand new single-player fantasy role playing game which lets players travel the land of Ferelden to decide the fate of player and ultimately the fate of the country. Players are allowed thousands of character customization options including abilities, appearance, race, class, and weapons. This game is best for the loner type kids.

Left4Dead 2 is most recent addition to Xbox's star lineup of video games that offers a puzzle like game as well as monsters and zombies. The player's performance in the game will decide the level of customization for cool effects, the enemies, and even the music. Even things like the levels themselves or the weather can be customized which adds excitement to the game. There are also hundreds of cool zombie weapons such as the new melee weapons, baseball bats, frying pans, chainsaws, and an axe. Get up close and personal with the zombies by chopping off a couple of heads!

Sirius Gets Serious

Sirius satellite radio has long been the underdog. Perhaps their name is a fitting match since the name Sirius comes from the "Dog star". The Sirius star is the brightest star in the sky, and Sirius aptly seeks the same place in the Radio industry. Yet, with XM Radio having millions more customers how will they do it?

Yet now, Sirius Radio has gotten serious. They hired on a professional research team, to literally follow people around all day, and watch them for an opportunity to better implement Sirius into their lives. Somehow I think it is odd that they need to study humans, but maybe corporations are that out of touch. At any rate, the move proved extremely successful. Producing a product that seems like it must have followed you and watched you too. The Sirius S50 is the product Sirius has unleashed. This new player is the creative response to the MyFi, and has tech critics everywhere in awe. It's essentially a handheld music player that, get this, will automatically load your favorite programming into memory whenever you load it into the docking station.

Simply amazing! Since it's launch prior to the holiday season, Sirius says they have stolen the momentum from XM and are actually gaining more customers than the larger XM Radio. Unless XM comes up with a counter product and fast, they could be facing a bleak future against Sirius who has gained momentum from the product, critical praise of their music selections, and with big enough step in the right direction they could deal the deathblow to XM.

The S50 I assume stands for Sirius-50 with the 50 representing the claimed 50 hours of music, which depends on the compression rate of the files stored. Even at 40 hours, that means 40 hours of quality programming from your favorite stations. That is, until RIAA stepped in out of concern for "music piracy" and made only one downloadable musical song per recording. Talk radio is not affected quite the same way. However, you can download your own MP3's onto the device, to fill the remaining time difference.

Even with the RIAA stepping in to try and stop it, the S50 is a pinnacle achievement, and will challenge XM to the core. XM will be hard pressed to develop a similar product, and are in danger of losing their advantage with one big push.

That's where Sirius' new bold marketing campaign steps in: "We know what you're thinking". A pretty bold and over-the-top statement, but it may be just what the doctor ordered. If they get enough customers curious to try look at the product, it will most likely ensnare them with it's simplistic beauty. Being able to download unknown music to your device that you will probably like is amazing just to think about. Say you like 80's rock, and come home from a day of work, plug in your Mp3 player, and it knows the two 80's stations you like, loads the music they were playing on it, and you're off to hours of enjoyable music.

With products like these, Sirius has the upper hand. With famous radio personalities like Howard Stern and Martha Stewart, a music selection most critics prefer over XM, and now the Sirius S50 wearable satellite player, it looks like XM will have to run for its money.

Cons

Google Android sounds like the name of a mobile phone, but it's actually not. The name Google Android is used to refer to the OS of the mobile phone. The market is flooded with with mobile phones these days, and consumers are spoilt for choice. So what makes Google Android so different? And why should anyone start using a totally different OS altogether?


Currently, the better known mobile operating systems in the market are Symbian, Palm, Windows Mobile and more recently, OS X for iPhone. These operating systems are all competing for market share. But the similar aspect of these operating systems is that they are all closed systems. In other words, no one else, but the companies themselves can develop applications for the OS (with the exception of OS X, which we shall discuss later).

Therefore, all mobile phones that are equipped with these operating systems have limited applications that can be installed.

Recognizing the rising trend of the open network, Google is hoping to change all that with Google Android. With the SDK (Software Development Kit) offered by Google, developers can truly innovate and come up with applications that can be installed in Google Android. We have all seen this concept taking the Internet by storm.

For instance, we see the Firefox browser closing the gap with Internet explorer. It's able to catch up quickly because it allows developers to develop useful extensions for the browsers. To date, there are hundreds of extensions for the Firefox browser, and its popularity is still rising. The same goes for social community sites. MySpace used to be the top social community site. But Facebook became popular really fast, and have risen to be on par with MySpace. Again, it happened because Facebook started allowing developers to launch applications on its platform.

The signals are clear. The open concept works, and Google Android is looking to overtake all the other mobile operating systems. The project is now being undertaken by the Open Handset Alliance, which is a group of companies formed by Google, T-Mobile, Sprint, Vodaphone, HTC, Motorola, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson and other players in the mobile phone industry.

Eventually, fans can't help but compare Google Android with Apple's OS X. After all, the Apple iPhone is immensely popular, and it also allows developers to develop third party applications for the iPhones, and distribute them through Apple's website. However, the OS X also has a limitation - it can only work with the iPhone. So if you don't like the iPhone (rare, but it happens), you are out of luck.

Google Android looks set to become the leading OS. It's just a matter of time. Already, the Open Handset Alliance is working with mobile phone manufacturers to develop Android mobile phones. So don't be surprised to find mobile phones from major brands such as Samsung, HTC, Motorola, etc. in the near future.

In terms of file support it supports your standard assortment of files including: MPEG4, WMA and Real files just to name a few. All video playbacks are played on a standard RealPlayer.

Overall, in the media department the handset performs quite well. The only nagging problem being that the standard headphones are not the greatest. We can guarantee that if you are a music buff you will most likely be replacing them with a decent pair.

Conclusion The handset provides a very appealing 4.5 hours of talk time and 270 to 300 hours of standby time, 26 hours of music and 180 minutes of video playback. In our trials, we found that with moderate use you could pull off about 3 days without needing to charge.

The 2.4 inch display does a brilliant job at producing vivid and bright images; even in direct sunlight we experienced no problems reading the display. Overall the display is really great and we believe this is one of the benefits of this phone. The keys are beautifully spaced, giving you plenty of room to type employing both hands. You won’t have any problem with your fingers bumping into each other with this keyboard.

Highest Level Touch Screen HTC G2 Hero White

The HTC G2 Hero White is the latest touch screen smart phone. The Hero is probably the best looking phone so far and The HTC G2 Hero White has several new improvements and enhancements. The all-new user interface, called HTC Sense, lets you view a log of all communication channels for a chosen contact. Simply choose a name from your contacts and within a single view you can see all calls, texts and emails plus all communications on the likes of Face book and Twitter.

The HTC G2 Hero White Mobile 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen is very good and the user interface with trackball navigation is excellent. The Hero has 3G with HSDPA, Wi-Fi, a GPS receiver and a digital compass for automatic navigation and rotation of maps. The multi-touch screen also has a built in accelerometer for auto-rotate and zooming in the gallery and web browser is a treat. Tethering is available, which means the Hero can be used as a broadband modem.

HTC G2 Hero White is not exactly a lightweight, at 135g but it feels quite robust. The HTC G2 Hero White is display that has a HVGA solving 320 x 480 pixels Bright sunlight legibility is pretty average with this display. Above the display is the earpiece grille, which has an ambient light source detector on unity position and a presentment LED on the other.

The HTC G2 Hero White Mobile is a standard 3.5mm audio jack and stereo Bluetooth, but video playback is disappointing. MP4 video playback is poor in higher resolutions and there’s no support for DivX or Xvid. if you have no interest in watching movies on your phone then that shouldn’t be too much of a concern though.
